Want to explore ancient Rome through your sense of smell? Then this tour is for you!
Our meeting point is by the church of Santa Maria della Consolazione (see map below). We will walk up and down the Capitoline Hill, finishing at the Colosseum, for a total of five scent stops.
What to expect: On the walk you will learn about the different sites, smells, and history of perfumes and materials used from 2,000 years ago. We will smell 10 different aromas identified through my research of ancient writing and archeological evidence.
Wear comfortable shoes and you may want to bring a water bottle.
